Blown away by becoming a mother in a foreign country, coupled with a growing fascination for the delicate dance of baby sleep, Marise Hyman eagerly enrolled herself for both the “Maternity & Child Sleep” and “Baby Planning” coaching curriculums at the International Maternity & Parenting Institute.
Not thinking twice she waved goodbye to an unfulfilling Big 4 Audit career in 2013, after the birth of her second child and certified as Baby Planner in 2014. She looks forward in soon certifying as Sleep Coach and combining both skills in Marise Hyman Maternity Coaching to holistically help expecting/new parents sail into their new lives with confidence and good health.
Also since 2013, through “Luxmama”, she enjoyed growing a community and hosting a range of inspiring events for expecting/new parents, which has recently been formalised into the Luxmama Club & ParentPrep asbl, aimed at raising awareness for green, natural and holistic parenting practices.
#Mumpreneur and #IT specialist Madhumalti Sharma with more than 19 years in the technology industry knows the importance of developing #coding skills in kids. Her teenage son Atreyam (Leo), is almost like a role-model for kids to pick up coding skills early on. Both Mum and son, passionate about #technology and its impact in our daily life, founded Workshop4Me, non- profit organization. It provides an informal homely atmosphere for 7-16 year olds to explore technology in an unconventional manner and use it to design animation, games, mobile apps and smart programs.
Madhumalti Sharma is a committed professional with supportive family and promotes many technology initiatives in BeNeLux region and India. She is enthusiastic about bringing girls into coding/technology ever since her IBM days when she organized the first technology workshop in 2005. Interestingly, CNN magazine mentioned #Workshop4Me’s Mum and Girls coding event, organized by her, as one of the ten coolest International Women’s Day 2015 events worldwide. With this, ingeniously, Madhumalti made another contribution by putting Luxembourg brand name on the technology world map.
Leo believes that “learning to code is like learning to think”. He is a technology geek, coder and hardcore gamer.
He has been coding and co-facilitating coding workshops for children since he was 12 years old. He then started independently facilitating coding workshops on introduction to computer science, Scratch and mobile application programming. During EU Code week, he ran 2 coding workshops with support from other teens.
During summer holidays this year, he did a 4 week internship and developed an iOS app at Kloneworld, a technology company based in Singapore and India. He also ran coding camp for under privileged children in Kolkata, India and in a school in rural India to children from Standard 9 -12.
He has been speaker at the Geek Girls Carrots event where he taught Vedic Maths. He has also been speaker at Project Management Institute, Luxembourg chapter telling kids how to manage their homework using Kanban. He has been using his problem solving skills to solve real world problems like an ICT glitch at Delhaize. He is a Standard 9 student at the European school and enjoys Maths and Science.
